Every skater who ever daydreamed in class has doodled some crazy designs for skatepark obstacles, and that's the basic premise behind the Vans Downtown Showdown: Check out the webcast from this weekend's event over at 411 to see this year's playground equipment. Also, check out tons of blogs, photos, etc. from the event over at the Vans site, and check out of the zany user-sumbitted designs that didn't make the cut too. Rick McCrank (pictured above) won on the obstacle designed by the folks at Real, and also tok Top Pro honors. If you're watching the video, looking at that tunnel designed by the folks at Creature, and thinking "Damn, somebody's gonna get scalped going through that thing," then think about sending a get-well card to Omar Hassan. Rob Brink has the photographic evidence.
