Damn, you take a few days off to ride closing weekend at your local resort (Winter Park, in this case), acquire a proper spring sunburn, and bust yourself goofing off in the terrain park on the last run of the last day of snowboard season, and what do you know? A whole ton of stuff goes down in the world of skateboarding and all the other blogs out there beat you to it while you're icing up your arm.
Here's a roundup:
SPoT has the Final results from the Spring Break Yo'Self contest that SPoTlight Productions put on in San Diego this weekend. Here's the top 10:
1. Brandon Turner
2. Tommy Sandoval
3. Jereme Rodgers
4. Shuriken Shannon
5. Adam Dyet
6. Garrett Hill
7. Sierra Fellers
8. Kevin Romar
9. Billy Marks
10. Cody McEntire
SkateDaily.net is reporting that Natas Kaupas married his girl Elizabeth over the weekend, and just for the heck of it is linking to this great OnVideo documentary on my childhood hero.
Skatedaily is also linking to this cool Lance Mountain interview from the Nike SB site. Here's a rock-solid quote: "It's still a toy you have fun on, even if money and things come and go." That's 34 years of skateboarding talking right there, people. Go check it out.
TheSkateboardMag.com is pointing to Ethan Fowler's trippy new Bummer High site and also to this quick new clip of Lacey Baker on the Element site. I've mentioned on here 10 or 15 times how much I love and support womens' skateboarding, right? I'm going to keep bringing that up periodically.
Thrasher's Burnout is in Argentina and P-Stone is in Israel with Tony Trujillo and the locals. Watch all the way to the last crazy couple of tricks. Also, a nice web-exclusive Thrasher interview with Zered Bassett.
My buddy Jonny over at SouthOfTheNorth is gabbin' about shoes this week with some Adio speculation (Tony Hawk and Bam Margera are out; what's next?) and some Nike SB drops.
And, finally: BNQT is always down to represent for our man Darren Harper. Here's a Cribs-style YouTube vid he and Stevie posted of DGK big pimpin' and icing up in an Atlanta loft. There's potentially some not-safe-for-work language in there, so put your headphones on and DGK all day.
