House of Neil's eBay Watch is up today over at SkateAndAnnoy, and this one's a doozy: A handful of decks went for more than $2,000, including two in the $3,000+ range (a leopard print Alva deck and a circa '79 Powell Peralta Beamer)
Also, House of Neil runs with a nice theme this month on eBay Watch, featuring a lot of boards that sold on eBay in August featuring "taboo" graphics. Define taboo: How about the Natas Kaupas pop-art graphic of the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion? That one (pictured above, and looking pretty beat up) went for $800. "Oops." Running with the theme: The Hook-Ups Space Hoes deck ($257), Guy Mariano's Accidental Gun Death graphic ($2,801), Jordan Richter's “safety first†condom instructions deck from Blind ($2,610), and Rudy Johnson's DUI deck ($1,100).
Lots of other great decks featured this month: I like the Neil Blender one best ($385).
I've never bought or sold a collectible deck on eBay or anywhere else, but I remain consistently fascinated by Neil's reports and by the market for old skate stuff. Check it out.
