Here's a fun fact: 60 percent of the skaters heading to Beijing next month for the park competition on the inaugural AST China Invitational are from South America. The scales have officially tipped. Rodolfo Ramos, Carlos de Andrade, Fabrizio Santos, Tulio de Oliveira and Danilo do Rosario will stake out majority status, with Chilean skater Danny Fuenzalida also reppin' South America and Austen Seaholm, Kurtis Colamonico, Mike Peterson, and Jason Barr rounding out the field for the Northern Hemisphere. I imagine all of the above will be out and about collecting China street footage while they're there.
On the vert ramp, Chinese skate fans will get to see just about everybody but Shaun White, Bucky Lasek, and Bob Burnquist: Watch for PLG, Andy Mac, Rune Glifberg, Jean Postec, Alex Perelson, Danny Mayer, Anthony Furlong, Buster Halterman, Adam Taylor, and Sandro Dias. BMXers Jamie Bestwick, Steven McCann, Chad Kagy, Jimmy Walker, Kevin Robinson, and Dennis McCoy will do a vert demo during the event.
More on the event later, but it runs April 18-20 in Beijing.
