Last night I was at the Denver Post Underground Music Showcase and ran into Derek Kefman, a Colorado artist working with everyone's favorite media: Skateboards. It's not the first time I've seen jewelry and other works crafted from reclaimed/resurrected skateboards, but I thought it was pretty fresh all the same. Check out Kefman's site at www.mukeedesign.com and click through to get to his Etsy site. He does earrings, necklace charms, belt buckles, and some other random stuff. I don't see them on the Etsy site at the moment, but at his booth last night he had some cool hoop earrings (my girl loves hoop earrings) and other stuff on display.
