Skatepark of Tampa has the results and photos up from its all-ages Harvest Jam contests. That's 8-and-under winner Julluis Jimenez pictured above. with Brennan Campbell and Tyler Hunger and a young woman who the SPoT caption seems to be implying is Jimenez' GRANDMA. Gotta love Tampa.
Over in California, Wes Kremer, Chris Pfanner, and David Loy took the top three spots at Active Am. David Loy is no stranger to this blog -- he won the 2006 Free Flow Tour and has been killing it all over the place this year (we gave him big props for finishing ahead of Ryan Sheckler at GvR). Those other two I had to look up: Kremer is from Carmel Valley, CA and sponsored by FKD bearings, Sk8 Mafia, and Sun Diego Boardshops. Pfanner is from Barcelona, Spain and riding for Nixon, Spitfire, Thunder, Vans, Volcom, Eastpack, and Yama Skateboards. Look for video, photos, and full results sometime this week at 411vm.com -- they're not up yet, and there's no news about the relative hotness of any of the skaters' moms or g-moms, which is why 411vm is no Skatepark of Tampa.
Look there for the Bling Fest video and results too. Quickly: Adam Dyet took the $2,500 Best Trick prize for a nollie hellflip bigspin to backside lipslide on the rail. There was a three-way tie for top overall skater of the day between Billy Marks, Tyler Hendley, and Greg Myers. Lat34 has a wrap and some photos.
I missed each of these contests because I live in Denver now. Here's about 303 reasons, courtesy of a new promo from the Denver Shop, why that's not such a bad thing. That's a pretty good slam section for a quick shop promo: The only fathomable reason I'm not featured in it is that their camera crews have yet to catch me eating it in any of the local bowls and flow parks I've been destroying myself in since I moved here. Ouch.
Those guys in Denver ever hear of wearing a helmet?
