Chris Haslam on Epicly Later'd this week, starting today!
Also... Every other skate blogger on the Internet beat me to this, but just in case you haven't already seen episode 2 of United By Fate from the good people at Globe, don't let it go another day. This time the focus is on Chris Haslam, in Barcelona and all over the place, including some strange underground mini-ramp obstacle course. There's some more of the arty b&w mysterious van plot that started in episode 1, an interlude of spectacular skating by a mix of people, and a brief Shane Cross tribute, but mostly it's Haslam, and he's absolutely killing it. These are probably the longest video parts I've ever seen devoted to single skaters in a video, and with Paul Machnau and Chris Haslam already crossed off the list, there's still Mark Appleyard, Rodney Mullen, Greg Lutzka, Matt Mumford, Jake Duncombe, David Gonzalez, and, of course, Shane Cross still to come. I should also shout out the fact that the Vividas video player Globe is using, which I'd never encountered before, is spectacular: These long-form high def full-screen clips load blazing fast and look beautiful, in less time than a typical YouTube clip loads. I don't usually nerd out on that kind of stuff but... wow. Check it out.
For more Haslam madness, be sure to check his manual goof in the first episode of United By Fate and revisit the crazy mini-ramp footage from Cheese & Crackers .
