Congrats to Evan Smith for taking down the Damn Am event in Minneapolis over the weekend, and to BNQT fave Chaz Ortiz in 2nd and Davis Torgerson in 3rd. I've seen Evan Smith in action a couple of times – he won a locals-only event on the Dew Tour course in Orlando last Fall, and I watched him at Tampa Am this year. He's one of the Mesh Skatepark rats down there in Orlando and also skates for Ezekial, DC flow, Force Trucks, and Listen.
I was sweating my ass off in a suit for a wedding in Washington, DC while this one was going down, so you'll have to stay tuned for the BNQT Damn Am video edit from Mike Kathman for more on what went down. In the meantime, here's the full results, and here's a rundown of Evan Smith's winning run.
Wallie lipslide on the hubba, backside smith grind on the bump to bar, backside 180 nosegrind on the bump to box, nollie heelflip noseslide down the hubba, backside noseblunt on the bank to wall, backside 5-0 on the bump to box, ollie impossible over the bank to bank, backside disaster on the quarter pipe, backside lipslide frontside 270 out on the flat box.
Also, 16-year-old Timmy Knuth grabbed the Best Trick contest with kickflip over a big gap to crooked grind.
